Regional church history

Together with the ev.-luth. Church community strossendorf/altenkunstadt invites the CHW district group burgkunstadt/altenkunstadt on saturday, 28. October, to strossendorf in the st.-katharina church one.
Already at 15 o’clock the members of the fruit and horticulture association with mayor robert hummer will plant a lime tree in the castle park, and at 16 o’clock begins in the church the lecture of district heimatatpfleger gunter dippold: the reformation also took root where the bamberg bishop as a prince exercised the sovereign authority. Altenkunstadt even had a lutheran pastor from 1553 to 1574. For far longer, the people in the extensive parish professed the protestant faith, until the counter-reformation forced the majority of them to change their faith. However, since the knighthood was independent of the empire and could command the faith of their subjects themselves, the noble places remained protestant. The most obvious example is strossendorf, where the gentlemen of schaumberg have been active since the late 16th century. In the sixteenth century altenkunst had a lutheran castle preacher. The presence of a protestant clergyman in the parish of the catholic parish of altenkunstadt was a source of conflict. The speaker traces the regional church history from the prehistory of the reformation until well into the 17th century. Century into after. The lecture is musically accompanied by the protestant church choir. All members and friends of the CHW are cordially invited, the lecture is free of charge.
